ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Construction Oversight Manager, DOE to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for oversight of overarching mission deliverables for construction activities and operations, including the quality, accuracy, efficiency and successful completion of the deliverable. 

• Ensure the safety and timely delivery of work in a Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 2 radiological facility while ensuring it is done in compliance with Laboratory policies and other regulatory requirements. 

• Responsible for the organization of operations in the areas of construction, field controls and Contracts Administration.

• Ensures the timely completion of discrete technical activities or operational projects.

• Adheres to technical requirements for the project and in coordination of the various groups within the Construction project and ensures that they are properly staffed. 

• Provides timely group support services to assist the various construction projects. 

• Ensures consistent application of construction engineering standards and practices between jobs. 

• Responsible for ensuring documentation is adequate and developing when it is not.

• Instilling and improving processes.

• Managing budgets.

• Providing oversight for other workers and subcontractors.

• Effectively communicating with stakeholders and customers.

• Responsible for the end-to-end success of the set of deliverables. 

Requirements

• Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

• Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work

• Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed

• Must have experience managing construction activities in DOE or NRC nuclear radiological arena.

• Must have construction management experience in DOE, nuclear, radiological facility.

• Must have Field Work Supervisor and Responsible Line Manager experience in work control setting (preference for Electrical Work Oversight).

• Must have professional and safety certifications relevant to construction in the DOE.

• Highly prefer experience in a work control setting with alignment to quality control, assurance and managing complex issues under NQA-1.

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons. This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering (energy.gov).
