About the Role



A well-established local general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as a key technical link between the field and the office. This position reports to the Project Manager and works closely with the Superintendent to ensure the technical aspects of commercial, healthcare, and hospitality projects are executed accurately and efficiently. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to grow within Hawaii’s construction industry.

Key Responsibilities



Document Control

• Manage the RFI and submittal process

• Maintain and update project logs, drawings, and as-built documentation

Technical Support

• Assist with cost estimates and scope review

• Review plans and specifications

• Respond to subcontractor technical inquiries

Scheduling Assistance

• Support the Project Manager in maintaining the master CPM schedule

• Track project milestones and deadlines

Quality & Closeout

• Assist with site inspections for code compliance

• Compile closeout documentation including O&M manuals and warranties

Qualifications



Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Certifications

• EIT (Engineer-In-Training) or OSHA 30-hour certification preferred

Experience

• Prior experience in a construction or A/E consulting environment preferred
