Typical Duties
- Serve as the primary day-to-day construction-phase contact for assigned projects.
- Manage and coordinate responses to RFIs, submittals, and field questions in collaboration with the design team.
- Lead construction coordination efforts among clients, contractors, consultants, and internal design staff.
- Facilitate resolution of field conflicts, design clarifications, and construction issues to keep projects moving.
- Track open items, decisions, risks, and action items through resolution and communicate status to the project team.
- Attend and lead construction coordination meetings, both virtual and in person.
- Review drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to support construction-phase decision-making.
- Coordinate with engineers and designers on construction changes, field conditions, and technical responses.
- Prepare, manage, and track punch lists through project closeout.
- Monitor construction progress and support schedule adherence by identifying potential issues and elevating concerns as needed.
- Support construction change management, issue tracking, and project closeout activities.
- Perform site visits and attend client and contractor meetings as required.
- Manage construction-phase responsibilities on multiple projects and across multiple sites simultaneously.
- Travel to project sites, Thomas & Hutton offices, and meetings in other states as needed.
- Overnight travel may be required on occasion.
- Other duties as necessary and/or assigned by supervisor.
- Arranges and conducts job progress meetings.
- Perform Project constructability reviews.
- Manages time effectively in order to meet project deadlines and client needs.
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline construction topics.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of construction-related experience.
- 5+ years of data center or mission critical construction experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass background checks as needed to obtain construction site access and security credentials.
- Ability to safely walk active construction sites, including congested and rough-graded areas.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 6 days per month.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing multiple fast-track projects simultaneously.
- Experience serving in a client-facing role during construction.
- Strong understanding of construction administration, field coordination, project documentation, and closeout processes.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Experience with construction scheduling software.
- Experience with Procore, SharePoint, and similar project/document management platforms.
- Experience with Nexus preferred.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction documents.
- Familiar with sedimentation and pollution control.
- Has problem solving skills related to civil construction elements
- Has project closeout experience.
- Familiar with pavement construction.
- Familiar with water, sewer, and storm infrastructure observations.
- Strong communication, verbal and written skills.
- Ability to produce concise reporting.
