Key Responsibilities:
- Inbound Lead Handling & Estimating
- Prioritize customer experience via timely visits, thorough communication and expectation setting, customer education and solution-oriented presenting alternative solutions when needed
- Visit residential and light commercial job sites to assess scope, measurements, and site conditions
- Prepare and send timely, accurate proposals using Buildertrend or equivalent platforms
- Clearly communicate project timelines, pricing, scope, and material options
- Answer questions and act as the primary point of contact for the customer pre-sale
- Process permits and other regulatory requirements as needed for jobs
- Proposal Follow-Up & Conversion
- Manage a structured follow-up cadence (calls, texts, emails) for proposals sent
- Address common objections (budget, timing, competitive quotes)
- Collaborate with operations team to offer adjusted timelines or incentives if needed
- Maintain proposal pipeline visibility in CRM or Buildertrend
- Outbound Sales & Relationship Building
- Identify and pursue partnerships with:
- General contractors, designers, property managers, HOA boards, etc
- Develop a repeatable outbound cadence (intro calls, meetings, drip follow-ups)
- Attend industry events, network locally, and represent Gardner Construction professionally
- Help create company awareness and strengthen our referral network
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of sales experience in residential or commercial construction
- Experience with cold calling and prospecting
- Proven ability to estimate project costs (concrete, foundation, waterproofing preferred)
- Preferred proficiency in using Buildertrend and Salesforce CRM
- Organized, self-motivated, and thrives on hitting goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel locally to job sites
