Job Description - Consultant


Job Summary

Being a Functional Consultant indicates that you have a deep knowledge of a specific SAP Module while having good background of other modules where there is integration with, you’re able to engage actively with clients to implement and customize SAP solutions, as well as to provide ongoing support and maintenance.




Being a self-starter with superior time management skills will help in managing senior customer and internal stakeholders and also own work stream independently with minimum supervision. While you are able to transfer knowledge and support associate consultants. 




Functional consultant typically has a background in business or technology and managed in delivering projects previously, and can rely on his general knowledge of business processes and industry best practices to help clients build customized solutions that fit their unique need.


Responsibilities, Duties & Tasks


  1. Administer the implemententation of projects

    • Leverage business and technical expertise to address technology architecture, blueprinting, data analysis, business modeling, technical design, application development, integration, and enablement.

    • Schedule and conduct a kick of meeting with the client.

    • Create detailed systems documentation, test scripts, and presentations.

    • Work collaboratively and independently to map and document the "As Is” flows.

    • Identify, document, and propose "to-be” solutions.

    • Lead cross-functional efforts to understand existing gaps and potential solutions.

    • Prepare the business blue print.

    • Prepare needed Training Manuals, UAT Scripts, and other project documentations.

    • Create Business Requirement Documents (BRD / FRD) and user acceptance test scripts

    • Discuss, confirm & document project plan with project manager and the client.

    • Administer and verify data migration process, documents & sheets.

    • Follow up the implementation process with the client through realization and integration till reaching the go life phase.

    • Follow up project plan on a daily basis and document client’s acceptance of each phase till the go live phase.

    • Monitor the progress of technical consultants and provide guidance for them in order to meet client’s specific need. 

    • Follow up post go live tickets flow till it get resolved.

    • Follow up any change request.

    • Communicate formally with the client any update regarding their requests and tickets and document their requests.

    • Manage the delivery of the project, provide Key user training, and facilitate change management.

       



  2. Coorindate with other teams;

    • Attend and conduct presales demos with the sales team when required

    • Collaborate with PMO in following up the clients’ needs and progress of project and update them with any new request or problem.

       



  3. Provide status reports to team lead & Project manager

    • Raise periodic reports to the team lead to inform him of progress of each.

      project, and in case there’re any obstacle or client complaints & requests.

  2. Reporting lines;

    • Reporting directly to; Team Lead.

    • Reporting directly to; Project Managers.

       



  3. Span of Accountability;

    Though this position is reporting to a Team leads, but it shares some baseline accountabilities with them, such as;


    • Projects accountability.

    • Operational accountability.

    • Pre-sales accountability. 

       



  4. Span of Control;

    • Can give instructions in-directly depending on the situation to; 

      • Technical Consultants.

         





  5. Working with others and place of work;

    • This position requires active engagement with client & technical teams on-site and off-site. 

    • Visiting clients is required usually, his time maybe shared between visiting clients on-site or monitoring project progress remotely in an office environment. 

       



  6. Tools needed;

    • Microsoft office package.

    • SAP GUI Access

    • Adobe Acrobat

    • Laptop with Fast processing capabilities.

    • Stable & Fast internet connection

    • Scanner & Printer.

    • Maybe in need to a car.

       



  7. Ergonomics;

    • Handle a lot of internal and external communications.

    • There is a possible need to move, drive and meet with clients on their premises, but still his work environment is related to office environment.

       




Job Specifications




























1. Scientific qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business administration, management or a related field.


2. Vocational qualifications & certificates

  • SAP related Certifications


3. Years of experience

A minimum of 2-4 years that must include at least;



  • Achieving the implementation of at least 2 End to End projects.


4. Special technical skills needed

  • Business acumen.

  • Leadership skills.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Customer Service Skills.

  • Project Management Skills.

  • knowledge and experience in SAP configuration

  • Appreciated knowledge in other SAP modules.

  • Lateral knowledge of all complementary modules of Project.

  • Result orientation

  • Conceptual thinking, 

  • Innovative mindset

  • English and/or Arabic Fluency.
