Regular, Fulltime Position

Hourly, Non-Exempt $24.00 to $26.00 DOE

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Consumer Loan Funder is responsible for accurately and efficiently reviewing executed Consumer loan packages for completeness, booking the loan onto the host system, and ensuring loan filing. Perform miscellaneous operational duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while preventing a loss to the credit union and ensuring excellent member service.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES, INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Process and fund Consumer loans within established guidelines to provide efficient loan service to members and automobile dealerships.
• Manage pending consumer loan applications
• Analyze income verification, read tax returns and understand proof of residence
• Verify and update applicant(s), collateral, rate, loan term and other information on Loan Operating System(s)-Loans PQ and Lending 360 prior to booking loans
• Provide professional customer service when following up with branches, members and vendors
• Consistently adhere to department level standards for funding consumer loans by end of business day
• Identify irregularities and fraud, address conflicts with member/third parties
• Advise lending supervisor and Internal Audit of suspicious findings
• Provide thorough information for Loan Officers on loan application needing additional review
• Respond promptly and professionally to branch/department/vendor inquires
• Stay current on credit union industry changes that affect tasks related to funding of consumer loan requests, comprehending all loan policies, and following all loan procedures
• Complete various tasks as needed including, but not limited to, processing of Adverse Action Letters, Disbursement letters, Negotiable controls and audits
• Ensuring applicable documents are in order and uploaded to Electronic Filing System at time of funding
• Achieve and maintain departmental goals related to quality and production
• Display a sense of urgency while ensuring proper steps have been taken to maintain data integrity
• Keep abreast of current products, procedures, and services to efficiently cross-sell at each opportunity, Identify member needs and associate their need with products.
• Interview, process, and disburse Consumer loans within established guidelines in order to provide efficient loan service to member.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Credit Union.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of 1 year of consumer lending experience or equivalent, loan funding preferred in a financial institution, Credit Union is preferred.
• Knowledge of establishing new account, developing relationships, loan consultation, service delivery, following policies and government regulations related to financial institutions
• Effective people skills, including excellent communication skills, including active listening and providing clear direction
• Requires the ability to communicate courteously and professionally, both in writing and verbally.
• Detail oriented, well organized and ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Computer proficiency required Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Various Credit Union systems experience preferred.
