Position Overview

As the Consumer Loan Manager, we are currently seeking someone who is experienced and motivated who can lead our consumer lending operations and support the bank's goals of delivering exceptional service and efficient lending solutions.

You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the consumer lending department, including loan processing, underwriting, and product support. This role is a key leadership position that collaborates closely with Retail Sales and Branch staff to ensure seamless delivery of lending services.

Requirements

 Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the accurate, compliant, and efficient performance of all consumer lending operations.
  • Hire, train, and lead a high-performing team of loan processors and underwriters.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, implement development plans, and foster a motivating work environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all consumer loan products, services, compliance requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with Retail Sales      Manager and branch personnel for business development and lending strategy alignment.
  • Monitor and analyze service level metrics, workflows, and process efficiency.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor products, and regulatory changes.
  • Support vendor relationships and assist in vendor management as needed.
  • Lead by example in professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in a financial institution with a focus on consumer lending and operations.
  • Strong understanding of consumer installment and home equity lending practices and regulations.
  • Experience with income and asset analysis, underwriting policies, and loan processing procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a management role within a financial institution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced computer literacy.
  • Excellent time management, verbal/written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage confidential information.
  • Comfortable with evolving technology and process improvements.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with warmth and compassion.
  • Adaptable and flexible with a drive for continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities   

Directly supervises a department of two employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Work with teams to carry out bank-wide marketing strategies.

Computer Skills

Strong proficiency in PC applications, including various software systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and banking systems.

Salary: $65,000.00 to $70,000.00 annually
