General Summary

Assist with daily operations of consumer loan production to ensure loans are handled in an efficient and cost-effective manner with a strong dedication to customer service. Work with branch staff on their daily operational issues related to the generation of consumer loans. This will include entry of loans on the system, questions about exceptions, training on software and on loan products, and other customer services issues. Also responsible for providing quality control of loan originations, boarding loans onto the Masterfile and any other internal operational function related to these loans.

Reports To: Consumer Loan Operations Team Lead

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Assist with daily operations of consumer loan production, assuring efficient and cost-effective operations. Maintain excellent customer service toward internal and external customers. 
• Assist in handling questions about exceptions; assist with entry of loans on the system, assist in training of computer software and procedural issues.
• Obtain all necessary documentation to complete application packages. Document income, assets and collateral per Loan Policy and submit files for underwriting review in timely manner.  
• Coordinate and track loan closings. Produce closing documentation and work with branch to successfully complete loan. 
• Make recommendations to appropriate management staff regarding issues that need correction, new ways of originating consumer loans, and other production or operational issues.
• Stay abreast of consumer loan compliance regulations, loan programs and products, and be able to train staff in these areas as needed.
• Be proactive in assisting or initiating operational changes or corrections as necessary.
• Assist in performing regular post-closing auditing and boarding of loan files to the Masterfile as needed to assure compliance with procedures, loan policy, etc.
• Any other operational function that may be required to assure timely and accurate processing and origination of consumer loans.
• Perform other duties as may be required from time to time including consumer loan insurance claim processing and other procedural processing.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Be familiar with and comply with the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act as they relate to the functions of this position. Complete all required reports related to those acts and reports any observed violations or potential violations of those acts to a supervisor or other appropriate bank officer.
• Be familiar with and comply with all federal and state banking regulations as applicable.

Qualifications

Experience and/or Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of two (2) years’ retail banking experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to work in an office environment which may include many hours of computer and telephone usage. This position is remote-eligible on a part-time hybrid basis, subject to supervisor approval.
