Grade: 5

Summary: Ensure consumer lending policies and procedures best serve the bank and customer's needs. Make certain that the bank complies with state and federal lending laws. Help the Director develop, recommend and implement lending policies, procedures and products. Help monitor economic conditions affecting the loan department and loan portfolio performance and recommend appropriate action. The effective administration of these items will provide superior service and support to the lending team and provide maximum profitability to the bank with a minimum amount of risk.

• Underwrite in a centralized underwriting environment
• Analyzes and completes regularly scheduled loan reports. Information should allow for optimizing portfolio performance of consumer loans and service delivery goals.
• Provide assistance in the research and development of new lending products and services.
• Identify new lending/deposit opportunities in a centralized environment and provide guidance to the lending team on how to pursue such opportunities.
• Assists in developing policies and procedures for the consumer lending function, as well as to ensure the bank is taking adequate action in gathering and maintaining documentation needed to limit risk
• Stays abreast of regulations and legislation, as well as other political and policy-making events that directly affect the bank
• Acts as a liaison for and oversees the preparation of supporting information for auditors, Bank examiners, loan review, etc. in coordination with the Director.
• Effective and tactful communication with bank management, lenders, creating and maintaining good public relations in day-to-day contact.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in business or related field preferred
• 5+ Years of consumer loan operations or 2+ years underwriting experience preferred
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of the lending process
• Knowledge of regulatory, compliance and audit procedures related to consumer lending
• Familiarity with insurance products related to consumer loans
