JOB SUMMARY: The Content and Design Coordinator is responsible for planning, creating, and managing content that reflects The Food Depot’s brand and mission. Working closely with the Communications Director, this position develops both digital and print materials to support outreach, client services, fundraising, and education. The coordinator will primarily assist with design content for social media, email, and online campaigns as well as support the development of brochures, signage, and other materials for departments across The Food Depot.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social Media
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across The Food Depot’s social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram.
- Use design tools to create visually engaging content aligned with The Food Depot’s brand, including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Support department efforts to monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions across platforms.
Feathr, The Food Depot’s Nonprofit Marketing Platform
- Create copy aligned with The Food Depot’s strategic communications and development a schedule of campaigns for e-newsletters to donors and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments develop and design several department-specific newsletters in Feathr, like the volunteer newsletter.
- Maintain the health of The Food Depot’s donor audience by managing lists, ensuring proper segmentation, removing inactive contacts, and optimizing deliverability within platforms.
- Set up and manage automated email workflows to engage supporters and streamline communication.
Online Advertising
- Manage and execute online advertising campaigns using Feathr and other digital platforms to support fundraising, advocacy, and engagement efforts.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions).
Departmental Print Communication
- Collaborate with departments across the organization to design and produce materials such as food distribution schedules, brochures, flyers, signage, and other communication tools.
- Develop materials to support community events and fundraising efforts.
- Ensure all materials follow The Food Depot’s brand guidelines.
- Support staff with layout and messaging for department-specific collateral needs.
- Coordinate printing and production with external vendors when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must submit a portfolio and/or work samples that demonstrate experience in writing, design, and digital content creation.
- Three years of related experience preferably in a digital marketing or creative services environment; nonprofit experience preferred but not required.
- Required proficiency in Google Workspace and creative software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, including experience with email marketing platforms.
- Ability to adapt writing, tone, and visual style to suit different audiences, ensuring that all materials communicate effectively and align with The Food Depot’s brand.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, including verifying dates, spelling, and factual information before publication.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player; must be able to effectively communicate and interact with coworkers, managers and customers; ability to effectively communicate problems and issues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of The Food Depot.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to interface with many diverse individuals across the state of New Mexico and work collaboratively with other staff members.
- Must able to handle multiple tasks in an office/warehouse environment.
- Able to manage time and workload independently while meeting established deadlines.
- Must be able to use general office equipment such as a computer, copier, scanner, etc.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
- Employee will spend 75% of the time working at a stationary computer terminal and 25% of their time in community interacting with clients and/or partners.
- Primary work is in an office environment.
