Job Description - Content Marketing Specialist

Location: Boston, MA Hybrid

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Content Marketing Manager, the Content Marketing Specialist will assist in the implementation of integrated content marketing strategies. This digital communications role includes digital content development, SEO copywriting, and social media messaging to increase brand awareness and engagement. The Content Marketing Specialist must pay close attention to emerging social media and digital trends and be able to quickly apply takeaways and trends to the respective brands in a constantly evolving industry.

In partnership with the brand team and Content Marketing Manager, develop best in class content marketing assets as well as standards, processes, distribution maintenance, retrieval, and re-purposed content in order to manage and maintain efficiencies
Collaborate with brand and digital teams on the content strategy that supports brand marketing initiatives across digital channels, platforms, Amazon, and retail .com partner sites and our brand website properties to increase brand awareness, engagement, sales while crafting a positive customer experience.
Audit the beauty brands content on digital and social platforms as well as digital assets to provide a cohesive content plan and calendar to improve the digital content, SEO optimize the content that engages the target audience, and improves the customer experience.
In partnership with Creative team, establish content marketing workflows and approvals for requesting, crafting, editing, publishing, and retiring content Write briefs for the Creative team that bring the strategy to life for our consumers with impactful assets. Work closely with Creative from conception to publication to ensure assets are on brand and in line with business objective.
Use social media reporting data and web analytics to measure content performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve results and the customer experience.
Curate content for a social and digital image resource library in collaboration with the Creative and Brand marketing teams.
Conduct SEO keyword research for content marketing to monetize across digital channels and social media platforms.
Perform content keyword research audits monthly to find opportunities, gaps, and supervise competitor’s strategies to continually elevate the brands content and engagement tactics to improve results.
Develop SEO optimized content and implement it on brand website and across digital marketing channels and platforms that deliver on objectives.
Collaborate with Retail Sales to develop and provide SEO optimized content for Amazon and other retail .com sites to ensure delivery of return on investment.
Conduct quarterly content audits and provide opportunities to improve digital content to increase performance.
Distribute monthly and quarterly reports across digital marketing channels for content marketing key performance indicators and provide areas for improvement to drive growth and align to brand marketing goals, objectives and key performance indicators.
Analyze content data based on content usage to advise the content messaging strategy and ongoing content optimization improvements.
Develop content marketing reports using Google Analytics providing content engagement, conversion and identify issues that need to be rectified.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

Extremely detail oriented with ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
Solid project planning, project management and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and copywriting skills in the English language.
Solid analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and develop creative content solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or certification related to communications, journalism, marketing, beauty, or fashion industry is highly desirable.
Work experience in CPG, Beauty, or fashion industry
1+ years of leading social media initiatives with demonstrated success across multiple platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok and Snapchat).
Experience developing and managing the development of a variety of digital content – written, video and images.
Outstanding proofreading and editing skills are required for the role.
Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe skills
Ability to work inconsistent hours and travel 15%
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year of digital marketing experience agency and/or client side
Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, MOZ or SEMrush preferred or other keyword research tool.
Knowledge of SEO keyword research and the role of SEO keywords for SEO copywriting, content optimization, search marketing and social media.
Experience using the Google Keyword Tool for SEO copywriting.
Solid understanding of Magento and WordPress or other content management systems.
