Job Description - Continuous Improvement Manager

This position is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by leading continuous improvement /cost out initiatives across the plant. Additional responsibility includes executing the organization's strategic plan consistent with federal, state, and local regulations, established industry standards, and customer requirements. The candidate needs to be able to think outside the box, passionate, people centric person/leader, encompassing lean principles, day in and day out, and be a hands-on working Manager. In this role you will: Participates as a key member of plant manager's staff in all critical decisions impacting facility. Manages continuous improvement team including lean coordinator, CI engineers and CI techs for success. Implement and lead Lean Manufacturing concepts and Lean tools throughout the enterprise, including Value Stream Mapping, structured problem solving, root cause analysis, 5s+, Standard Work, etc. Lead operational improvement events (kaizen, gemba walks, rapid improvement events, process improvement, basic problem solving (A3), etc.) with multi-functional teams from concept to implementation. Achieve facility wide cost out targets through improvement projects, waste reduction, best practice sharing/implementation, holding project leaders accountable to deliver, and other programs. Identifies potential safety hazards and provides input into the remediation process, ensuring equipment functionality meets required specifications. Enforces safety expectations, documents, and communicates hazards and unsafe conditions, conducts training to team members on safety regulations and methods. Performs root cause and failure analysis for resolution of production detractors. Applies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to provide specified cost, quality, and performance in a safe and efficient manner. Collaborates with others in critical thinking and problem-solving activities. Responsible for executing sustained change management as it applies to product and processes within manufacturing operations. Utilizes change management techniques such as ADKAR to effectively drive and sustain process improvements. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited intuition. Five (5) years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or lean manufacturing deployment in a manufacturing environment. Three (3) years of experience as a manager of people. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Nacogdoches, TX. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. Lean Six Sigma Black/Green Belt Certified Comprehension of ECIS requirements Strong team-building skills Strong organizational skills Ability to lead and support cross-functional teams Ability to integrate CI with other functions Ability to thrive in matrixed management Ability to act as an agent of change; effective in enabling and driving change Delivering all communication with clarity, impact and passion and tailored to the audience
