BryceTech is looking for a highly skilled Contract Close Out Specialist that is responsible for managing and executing the administrative and financial activities necessary to successfully close out completed contracts within AFWERX’s innovation and rapid acquisition environment. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DoD, and Air Force policies, while also supporting accurate financial reconciliation and timely release of unliquidated obligations (ULOs).

Contract Closeout Execution:

• Perform contract closeout duties for a variety of contract types (e.g., SBIR/STTR Phase I–III, OTAs, FFP, cost-reimbursement).
• Review contracts, modifications, funding documents, invoices, and deliverables to confirm completion and compliance.
• Ensure all required documentation is gathered and finalized, including DD Form 1594 and other closeout artifacts.
• Coordinate with Contracting Officers (KOs), Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), program managers, and finance offices to facilitate smooth closeout.Financial Reconciliation:

• Review and reconcile contract financial data, including unliquidated obligations, to identify and deobligate unused funds.
• Collaborate with DFAS and FM offices to validate payment status, resolve discrepancies, and ensure funds are returned or reprogrammed properly.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain auditable contract closeout records in accordance with DoD documentation standards and internal AFWERX procedures.
• Update closeout tracking systems (e.g., WAWF, PIEE, ACORS, or internal dashboards) to reflect contract status.
• Generate and present reports on contract closeout status, timelines, and outstanding actions for leadership oversight.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

• Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline the closeout process in alignment with AFWERX’s agile approach.
• Ensure closeout procedures comply with FAR/DFARS and Air Force Acquisition regulations.
• Participate in internal audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance activities related to contract closeouts.

Educational Requirements: Associate’s degree

Experience Requirements:

• Active Secret security clearance
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), and Air Force contracting procedures.
• Experience performing contract administration or closeout in a DoD or federal agency setting.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple contract files, meet deadlines, and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• DAWIA Level I or II certification in Contracting (or equivalent DoD acquisition certification).
• Experience with SBIR/STTR programs, Other Transaction Authority (OTA), or innovative acquisition methods.
• Familiarity with AFWERX, SAF/MG, SAF/AQ, or other Department of the Air Force innovation offices.

Specialized Tool Experience: Proficient in contract management tools and financial systems (e.g., WAWF, PIEE, ACORS, DTS, DEAMS).

Must possess an Active Secret security clearance.
