Contract Group Facilitator - Therapist | Behavioral Health | Huntington Beach, CA

Hotel California By The Sea is a leading provider of behavioral health treatment and services to individuals with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders in southern California (Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa). 

We are seeking vibrant, motivated, and dedicated professionals to serve as a Group Facilitator - Therapist (CA), who will be providing Group Therapy services to persons with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders.  

Group facilitation needed for the following days:

Monday- Sunday

Ideal candidates should be proficient and experienced in leading Group Therapy sessions on various evidence-based topics, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Coping Skills Therapy, Trauma-informed Therapy, Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, and Relapse Prevention. 

Group Facilitator - Therapist (CA) must be licensed as one of the following in the State of California and possess a valid business license: 

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)


• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)


• Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a high level of communication with the Clinical Team regarding client behavior, progress, and any further observation essential to the clients' treatment


• Documentation of group notes in KIPU on day of service


• Maintain group curriculum and update material regularly 


• Have a keen awareness of various 12-step groups and knowledge of the 12 step-recovery


• Must have knowledge and ability to use therapeutic techniques to educate, elicit feelings, facilitate self-understanding and motivation to clients


• Knowledge and sufficient understanding of HIPAA laws, rules, and regulations (specifically includes, but is not limited to, the privacy, security, and confidentiality of clients protected health information)

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Licensed as one of the following: LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC


• Experience providing group therapy via group facilitation


• Strong commitment to serving clients struggling with chemical dependency


• Understanding of the disease model of addiction


• Must have a business license if required by your city


• Must have liability insurance 
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working within a dual-diagnosis model of treatment


• Experience in the behavioral healthcare field


• Demonstrated skills in crisis management
