Contract Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for 2023-2024school year

ProCare Therapy is looking to hire acontract speech language pathologist assistant for the remainder of the 2023-2024school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.Weare partnered with a great school district located in Hitchcock, TX.

The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. While undergoing your assignment, you will be provided with: competitive compensation, weekly paychecks, and superior healthcare benefits through United Healthcare.

Caseload:

• Full time: 35 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• Hours: 7:30- 3:00
• PreK-12th grade caseload
• 50 students on caseload
• Speech only services
• Experience with Medicaid services and documentation
• Supporting district SLP's with caseload

Responsibilities:

• Conducting assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students. Administering standardized tests and informal evaluations to gather information on communication abilities.
• Collaborating with the SLP to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
• Implementing therapeutic activities and interventions to address communication goals.
• Providing direct therapy to students individually or in small groups. Using various techniques and tools to improve communication skills, including speech sounds, language development, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
• Regularly monitoring and documenting students' progress in meeting communication goals. Communicating with the SLP to adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Working closely with teachers and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments. Providing guidance and strategies for supporting communication development outside of therapy sessions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders
• SLPA license in Texas
• Previous school experience is preferred
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
