We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Accounting Analyst for a consulting contract-to-hire position. This role is an amazing opportunity to work with a dynamic team while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of tasks related to accounting functions, including general ledger, billing, and month-end close activities. The candidate must have a strong background in accounting and be proficient in Excel and Great Plains software.

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Analyst, you will be expected to:

1. Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards and regulations.
2. Oversee the billing process, including invoice creation, account reconciliation, and resolving any billing issues.
3. Perform month-end close activities, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
4. Use Excel and Great Plains software to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
5. Collaborate with other team members to streamline accounting processes and procedures.
6. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
7. Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
8. Provide support to management in making financial decisions by providing necessary data and analysis.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you must have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger, billing, and month-end close activities.
3. Proficiency in Excel and Great Plains software.
4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.
5. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
6. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
