Contract to Hire Patient Navigator- up to $20/hour!

Our client, a healthcare advisory organization, is actively seeking a contract to hire Patient Financial Navigator to sit onsite at a busy hospital here in Philly! This candidate will be responsible for helping patients navigate their bills, financial obligations and insurance process during their medical care. Strong interpersonal skills are a must!
About you:
1+ year of experience working with patients or customers in a healthcare, insurance or social work setting
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, goal orientation, and organizational prowess
Proven and bright customer service skills with a particular focus on patience, adaptability and empathy
Must have ability to travel to Allentown for training Monday-Friday for at least right weeks
Proficiency in EPIC or comparable Patient Eligibility systems
The job:
Aid patients in navigating the application process for pharmaceutical or charitable foundation assistance
Provide guidance to patients in deciphering medical bills, understanding insurance benefits, and accessing financial resources offered by pharmaceutical companies and charitable foundations
Collaborate with patients, physicians, nursing staff, pharmaceutical representatives, and charitable foundations
Travel to other client facilities as required to provide care and support for patients
Work consistently in EMR systems to input information, research data and update documentation
Fulfill other duties as assigned
This contract to hire position does require a candidate who can travel to the organization's Allentown location for an eight-week training program (travel and accommodations will be paid for), and then will work onsite in the Philadelphia area on a Monday-Friday schedule. This position is paying $19/hour while temporary and up to $20/hour when permanent.
