The best candidate will have strong experience in both operational and problem resolution skills, motivated and personal customer service, and a team first focus in addition to the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with our Transportation Management System (TMS) to keep vendors up to date, qualified, and the documentation is current.
• Specializes in vetting and managing outside carriers, including warehousing, pick up and delivery, draymen, less than truckload and truckload with precision and dedication.
• Look for inconsistencies and incorrect information provided by carrier to avoid double brokering and cyber misrepresentation.
• Accountability for approval and/or denial of carriers based on information provided by the carrier and through our own research.
• Ensure that our operations and carriers align with latest industry trends and regulations to make sure we are compliant.
• Familiarization with contracts, operating authority, insurance requirements, state, and federal regulations.
• Responsible for vendor management, including updating information, updating insurance certification, tariffs, and applicable information for operations.
• Assist in identifying process improvements and procedures searching for upgraded and streamlined processes to vet carriers to enhance productivity.
• Identify and mitigate risk associated with external carriers to safeguard our customers product and our supply chain.
• Rigorous screening process to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Management of data for compliance and vendor fulfilment.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of compliance in a transportation role, specifically working with vetting outside carriers or independent contractors.
• Understanding and applicability of contracts, operating authority, insurance requirements, State and Federal regulations, tariffs, and other requirements for freight forwarding
• Ability to analyze information provided by vendors and capable of making operational decisions on the validity of carriers
• Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong teamwork, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to work under pressure in an unsupervised environment.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret verbal and written requests and directions.

Computer skills:

• TMS systems
•  Microsoft Office suite of products (Intermediate Excel a plus)
• Third party verification sites (i.e. Carrier 411, FMCSR Safer)
