Job Description - Contract/Grant Specialist

Salary: $50,004.86-$69,781.92/Annually *Salary includes 6% Stipend
Location: Augusta

How you will make a difference:


This position is responsible for the complete grant process. This includes searching for, receiving, and acting on notices of federal grant opportunities, submitting applications, soliciting and awarding subgrants, monitoring program and financial progress, and reporting both to the federal government. Professional services work includes (but is not limited to) negotiating contracts, processing invoices, creating and monitoring contracts, grants, and other goods and service agreements purchases. Accounting and technical support duties include (but are not limited to) independent processing of payments (invoices, grants, and purchase orders).


Job duties include but are not limited to:



  • Preparing grant applications, developing the budget component of the grant applications, monitoring the grant spend, and assisting sub-recipients as needed to enable them to complete their proposals for sub-awards.

  • Writing new Requests for Proposals.

  • Writing contracts and memorandums of agreement.

  • Providing information and assistance to providers, grantees, and staff,

  • Prepare, code, and submit invoices for processing

  • Verifies source documents for accuracy, completeness, authorization, and invoice coding.

  • Monitors budget balances and identifies issues to inform and support program managers and accounting partners.

  • Reviewing sub-recipient status reports and filing required information for federal grantor agencies.

  • Preparing grant applications, developing the budget component of the grant applications, monitoring the grant spend, and assisting sub-recipients as needed to enable them to complete their proposals for sub-awards.


Minimum qualifications:


Education, training, and/or experience demonstrating competence in contract or grant administration.
