Job Description - Contracting Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Contracting Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of contracts, from drafting and negotiation to execution and compliance. This role is essential in ensuring that all agreements align with organizational objectives, legal requirements, and risk management standards. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of contract law, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, NDAs, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure all contracts comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including initiation, approval workflows, execution, and renewal tracking.
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, finance, and business teams to align contract terms with operational needs.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Maintain organized and accurate contract records in contract management systems.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
  • Support audits and provide documentation for compliance reviews.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk in contracting procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–6+ years of experience in contract management, procurement, or legal support roles.
  • Strong understanding of contract law principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional certifications such as CPCM (Certified Professional Contracts Manager) or equivalent are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
