Controller

Four Peaks Environmental Science & Data Solutions (Four Peaks) has an opening for a Controller to support its growing business needs and manage its financial operations. The ideal candidate would have an accounting and/or finance background and experience as a finance manager, controller, or a similar role in a professional services firm. The position will manage a finance team for Four Peaks and develop processes to streamline routine financial and accounting operations for the company, and provide opportunities to grow into a senior leadership level at the company.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Company’s Director(s), the Controller will actively manage the company’s finances and the development and maintenance of all financial systems, procedures, and policies. The Controller oversees the firm’s accounting functions, tax reporting, and manages banking relationships. The position is also responsible for developing short-term and long-term financial forecasts. The position currently leads and mentors an accountant/bookkeeper and closely collaborates with a wide variety of roles ranging from Company Director(s)/owner(s), employees, and external partners.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance


• 5+ years of experience leading and managing an accounting team in a company with employees in multiple states (preference for Washington and Oregon, but Company also has employees in Illinois and Massachusetts)


• Financial leadership experience in or understanding of professional services firms that deliver project-based services


• Ability to analyze financial performance metrics of the company and effectively and concisely presenting information to senior leadership team


• Ability to work in-person (3 days/week) in Seattle or Wenatchee office

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in environmental consulting, engineering, architecture, or other creative services business is highly desired

• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint financial ERP system is highly desired

• Certification as public accountant

• Passion for being a teacher-leader – some form of delivery of training or teaching experience
