As a Controller, you will be responsible for managing the financial controls of the business as well as providing both an analytical and strategic partnership with the CAO, and other managers in making business decisions. Additionally, the Controller will have the ability to reimagine the accounting office processes, modernize with new technologies and think creatively. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing the financial and accounting system and personnel for multiple franchise dealership operations


• Manage appropriate accounting processes and associated checks and balances to ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual accounting information is accurate and correctly reflects the financial position of all dealership entities.


• Preparing monthly financial statements. Analyze and review monthly results with appropriate dealership management and assist in development of actionable items to correct and enhance dealership profitability.


• Ensure proper controls and processes in place to comply with OEM and governmental requirements related to contracting, vehicle registration, manufacturer incentives, etc.


• Prepare appropriate tax reporting forms for various state and local taxing authorities.


• Plan and assist year-end review of accounting records by outside accounting firms for the preparation of annual financial reports and tax returns.


• Reviewing all financial statements and ledgers, and working with the accounting staff to clear up any discrepancies.


• Manage banking operations which include cash management, disbursement and receipt management and related reconciliation and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of five years of relevant experience in automotive accounting. Controllers should have strong communications, customer service, leadership and organizational skills.


• Controllers are expected to interface with the Business Office and the General Managers of the dealerships. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are imperative.


• Technology savvy individual with experience CDK DMS preferred.
