Woodward Video is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Controller to oversee accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting operations across multiple company entities. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can work independently, manage financial operations, and improve internal processes using technology and strong financial controls.
The Controller will work closely with ownership and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax and licensing requirements, and the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
Manage daily accounting and bookkeeping operations for multiple company entities
Prepare financial statements, Profit & Loss reports, and quarterly financial reports
Perform bank reconciliations and track store deposits
Manage POS system reporting and financial data accuracy
Process payroll for all company entities
Prepare and submit required tax documentation (1095, 1094, 1099 forms)
Coordinate with external accountants and financial advisors
Compliance, Licensing & Tax Reporting
Support property tax and real estate tax filings
Assist with lottery, health, and liquor licensing requirements
Maintain compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements
Assist with financial forecasting and budgeting estimates
Operations & Leadership
Maintain an organized and efficient office financial system
Support hiring or termination decisions for office staff when needed
Identify opportunities for technology improvements and process automation
Represent the company professionally and support community relationships
Work collaboratively with leadership to support business growth and financial strategy
Required Qualifications
Proven Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant experience
Strong background in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
Experience managing payroll processing
Ability to prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and P&L statements
Knowledge of tax documentation and compliance filings (1095, 1094, 1099)
Experience working with POS systems and Microsoft Office
Strong organization, communication, and time management skills
Ability to manage confidential financial information
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Up to $115,000 annually
