This role is designed for someone who wants more than a seat at the table. You’ll work directly with ownership to create structure, drive financial clarity, and position the company for long-term success.
What You’ll Do:
Own all financial operations with full autonomy and accountability
Manage general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes
Produce accurate, timely financial reports and performance insights
Monitor and analyze profit margins across projects and business lines
Oversee AIA billing, cost tracking, and WIP reporting
Maintain and optimize accounting systems (RFMS + Microsoft tools)
Partner with external CPA/accountants for compliance and reporting
Prepare financial documentation for leadership decision-making
Establish and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting structure
Collaborate directly with ownership on strategic financial planning
Compensation & Perks:
Base Salary: $100,000 – $120,000
Bonus: Discretionary performance bonuses ($5K–$10K, typically paid twice per year)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week (flexible start at 7:00 or 8:00 AM)
Potential option for a 4-day / 10-hour schedule
Work Environment: Fully onsite, highly collaborative small-team setting

Requirements:
5+ years of accounting experience (Senior Accountant or Controller level)
Strong financial reporting and oversight capabilities
Experience managing general ledger and close processes independently
Comfortable owning the full accounting function in a small business environment
Experience with AIA billing, cost accounting, or WIP reporting preferred
Experience working with external CPAs or accounting partners preferred
Proficiency with accounting software (RFMS or similar) and Microsoft Office
High ownership mentality with the ability to operate autonomously
Adaptable, hands-on, and comfortable in a family-run business environment
Additional Information: This is an onsite position based in the Greater Salem, NH area. This is not a remote role. The company does not provide visa sponsorship.
