Controller - Community Financial Institution

We're seeking a seasoned Controller to guide the fiscal operations of a respected, member-centric financial services organization. This is a permanent, on-site executive position focused on maintaining financial integrity while shaping the organization's monetary future.

Primary Focus Areas

• Financial Stewardship: Direct all accounting functions and financial reporting systems, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial documents and analyses.
  


• Strategic Planning: Lead the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial strategies to support organizational growth and stability.
  


• Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to all applicable financial regulations and industry standards specific to financial institutions, implementing robust control systems to mitigate risk.
  


• Team Leadership: Guide and develop the accounting staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of performance and accuracy.
  


• Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary financial liaison to executive leadership, board members, and external audit partners, providing clear insights and recommendations.
  

Requirements

Professional Background

• Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance or other related discipline


• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, general ledger oversight, and account reconciliation
  


• Proven ability to develop comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  


• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks governing financial institutions
  


• Experience leading and developing accounting teams
  


• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet applications and financial software systems
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Professional certification (CPA or CMA) strongly valued
  


• Academic background in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  


• Previous experience within the credit union or banking sector is particularly advantageous
