Controller CFO - Join a Market Leader

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Controller to join our client's team at a private equity firm. As the Controller, you will oversee the financial operations and accounting activities of our client, which includes managing multiple remote teams and an offshore office.

This key leadership role requires you to work closely with the executive team and play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for executive management.

• Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with department heads and team leaders to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor actual performance against budgets, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed.

  • Provide guidance and support to teams in managing their budgets effectively.

• Financial Controls and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Oversee the preparation of tax returns and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.

  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and changes in regulations, and implement necessary adjustments accordingly.

• Team Management and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, including remote team members and offshore staff.

  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members, fostering their professional growth.

  • Promote a positive work culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance and accounting function.

  • Streamline financial processes, implement automation solutions, and leverage technology tools to optimize workflows.

  • Drive initiatives to improve financial reporting accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.

Requirements:

• Educational background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

• Proven 4+ years of experience as a Controller or in a similar finance leadership role within a Management Services or financial services industry.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.

• Experience managing remote teams and collaborating across geographically dispersed offices.

• Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-finance professionals.

• Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
