This position involves overseeing the preparation of financial reports, managing the monthly close process, driving process improvements, collaborating with practices to identify growth opportunities, facilitating the transition to a new accounting system, managing treasury and cash, and identifying opportunities to grow the business through financial analytics.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
Liaise with the CFO and other senior executives to make decisions about company's financial strategy.
Implement operational best practices and oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing cost-effective benefits packages.
Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions.
Engage the finance committee of the board of directors to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections.
Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, auditors, public officials, etc.
Remain up to date on audit best practices and state and federal law regarding company operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field is required. An MBA, CPA, or related qualification is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, ideally in the hospitality industry.
Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
Analytical mind with a strategic ability.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
Professional certification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus.
Must have experience with inventory management.
