Job Title: Plant Controller

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:

• Prepare and reconcile all monthly financial reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Analyze actual financial performance against budgeted amounts, investigating variances and providing meaningful insights.
• Monitor bank covenants and generate reports for government regulatory agencies as required.

1. Job Costing Management in a Manufacturing Environment:

• Oversee standard job costing procedures within the manufacturing facility.
• Calculate labor and overhead rates, and analyze variances between standard and actual costs to optimize operational efficiency.
• Maintain the ERP system to ensure accurate and up-to-date cost data for decision-making purposes.

1. Collaboration and Coordination with Management:

• Engage with other members of the management team to stay informed about company priorities and strategic direction.
• Provide guidance to align financial planning with overall business objectives, coordinating expenditure programs with forecasted cash flow.

1. Comprehensive Duties and Supervision:

• Perform a wide range of duties requiring extensive knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax accountants to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Supervise and mentor other accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

1. Percentage Completion Accounting (Preferred):

• Experience or familiarity with percentage completion accounting methodologies for long-term contractual relationships is advantageous.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting, and job costing within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, with demonstrated experience in utilizing such systems for cost accounting purposes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing competing priorities effectively.
• Previous experience with percentage completion accounting is a plus.
