Controls Engineer

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Controls Engineer.\n\nThis role is located at our Waukesha, WI site. Relocation assistance will be provided. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $82000 - $120000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n \nThe Manufacturing Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals by developing and maintaining robust testing and assembly processes. The Manufacturing Controls Engineer will actively participate and support the design, development, fabrication, validation, installation, and troubleshooting of production equipment and programs. \n \nIn this role you will:\n\n * Provide guidelines for the design and selection of test equipment, Developing testing protocols, test data collection programs and best practices.\n * Support, service, and trouble shoot controls for production equipment, test equipment, and electrical systems within the plant.\n * Develop test equipment specifications ensuring compliance with electrical safe work practices and OSHA requirements. Identify and remediate potential safety hazards.\n * Developing interfaces between SQL databases and production systems.\n * Enforce safety expectations, document, and communicate hazards and unsafe conditions to ensure a zero-incident culture and product conformance to electrical safety and quality standards.\n * Collaborate with manufacturing, MESH, manufacturing engineering, quality, product design engineering, suppliers, and customers as needed.\n * Performs root cause and failure analysis, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills. \n * Guide the capital equipment selection process and develop Capital Appropriation Requests (CARS) for new products or process initiatives. \n * Actively participate in assessment processes within the manufacturing environment, potentially as a category lead or champion. \n * Lead/co-lead cost-out initiatives and promotes culture of continuous improvement. Collaborates cross functionally using Lean and Six Sigma tools to solve manufacturing problems.\n * Leverages advanced technology to improve the effectiveness of information systems for controls.\n * Seeks opportunities to eliminate waste associated with the flow of factory floor test information. Leads/co-leads projects, develop goals, budgets, and work breakdown structures. \n * Execute sustained change management within manufacturing operations, utilizing change management techniques such as ADKAR to drive and sustain improvements. \n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution\n * Two (2) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing testing environment\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\n * Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Jonesville, SC. \n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with National Instruments hardware (DIO, DAQ, GPIB, PXI) and software (LabView, TestStand)\n * Medium and High voltage and high current testing\n * LabView certification is a plus.\n * Experience in NFPA70E and OSHA Regulations in Electrical Safety (Arc Flash, LOTO, Approach Boundaries, PPE selection and testing)\n * Six Sigma or/and Lean Manufacturing\n * Experience in reading, marking up and updating blue prints, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics and one-line drawings\n * Experience in designing and deploying various PLC hardware and software \u2013 RSLogix5, 500 \u00265000, Siemens Step 7, Allen-Bradley HMI systems, VB.Net and C#\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
