Convenience Store Area Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY: The Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all retail activities within an assigned region. The Area Supervisor ensures the highest level of customer service throughout each assigned location, organizes and oversees the schedules, territories, and performance of store managers and acts as a role model and leader to all ROC store employees, and maximizes the workforce to achieve maximum results. 

SCHEDULE:

Experience

• Three to five years’ experience in retail management
• Experience and knowledge in the areas of management, finances, accounting, reporting, customer service, inventory management, people management and other related operational areas.
• Demonstrated effective track record in retail sales and operations.

Knowledge and Education

• High School diploma or GED required.  Associate degree preferred.
• Knowledge of retail management and people management
• Knowledge of overall effective business management, including operational responsibility for revenues, expenses, and risk management.
• Solid knowledge of store operations, required – merchandising, inventory control, cash control.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Excellent sales and customer service skills.
• Excellent skills in areas of leadership, management, coaching, teaching, and motivating employees.
• Ability to interact with all levels in an organization.
• Demonstrated attentiveness to details; mathematical analytical ability. Use of calculator.
• Good computer skills, e.g. point of sale system, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems – operational, customer, and employee.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a high pressure and demanding environment.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation.
• Ability to multi-task, i.e., pick-up where left off when interrupted.
• Good organizational skills.
