Compensation & Benefits:

This is a full time, hourly position.   An attractive compensation package that includes a starting base rate of $19.00 per hour plus service charges.

Job Summary:

Cook 1 (Expediter) is responsible for the daily preparation of high-quality food items in the restaurant and for efficiently coordinating the timely delivery of orders as an expediter.  Cook 1 is the top line cook position and is differentiated from other line cook positions by level of experience and culinary skill, ability to produce high quality food and ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high production outlet.

Job Duties:

• Lead the pass during service, managing the flow of orders from the kitchen to front-of-house.


• Ensure all plates meet the restaurant’s standards for accuracy, presentation, portion size, and temperature before they are sent out.


• Communicate clearly and efficiently between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.


• Monitor ticket times and pacing to ensure timely delivery and consistent quality.


• Coordinate with all line stations to time dishes for proper firing and finishing.


• Adjust and prioritize orders as needed during peak service times.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo area at all times.


• Handle special requests or allergy modifications with precision and attention to detail.


• Be a calm and effective problem-solver during high-pressure moments on the line.


• Foster teamwork and a positive service environment between FOH and BOH teams.


• Step onto the line as needed to support cooking and plating across various stations.


• Fabrication of meats, fish, and poultry for portioning and production.


• Conduct line checks and fill out station inventory sheets.


• Maintain prep and par levels and assist in daily food prep.


• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.


• Practice proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.


• Respond positively to feedback and contribute to team morale.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient station.


• Uphold a safe and collaborative work environment.


• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must have prior experience as an expediter or the ability to effectively manage the pass during service.


• Previous professional cooking experience required.


• Must have good knife skills.


• Ability to meet cooking skill standards as established by Cook level.


• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds occasionally.


• Must have the ability to rotate with other cooks as needed including expo line experience.
