Summary

While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this key position is responsible for supporting the operations of SV Health through providing quality customer service and meals to residents, patients, visitors and staff. The areas of influence would include but are not limited to the Swift Crick Café, Care Center Dining Room, patient meals and caterings on behalf of the facility. This at will position will follow SV Health policies as well as any governmental guidelines and laws.

Job Duties

  • Work with other staff members to provide quality foodservice to patients, residents and guests.
  • Read menus, recipes, and review all necessary steps in meal preparation with the Dietary Director.
  • Must be able to read and follow specific recipes, menus and other therapeutic diet information.
  • Serve meals using portions listed on menu;
  • Good understanding of proper food preparation, sanitation and handling techniques.
  • Follow established security routine; use proper infection control techniques and protective equipment; use proper safety techniques.
  • Supervise dietary personnel in the absence of the Dietary Director or Cook II
  • Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situation, i.e. before, during or after.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in patient, visitor and staff matters

Abilities & Skills:

  • Multi-task with extreme attention to detail 
  • Maintain confidentiality with reference to resident, patient and organizational information
  • Self-motived organized individual 
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Aptitude to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively
  • Coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
  • Stand for long periods, reach, push, pull and lift minimum of twenty (20) lbs, stoop and kneel

Experience & Education:

  • One year commercial food preparation experience 
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
