Cook – Nursing Home / Long-Term Care Facility
Location: Woodmere, Nassau County, NY
Schedule: 12 PM – 8 PM; every other weekend required
Pay: $23 per hour, paid weekly

• Prepare, cook, and season meals according to daily menus, including therapeutic or special diets as needed
• Execute proper food handling, storage, temperature checks, and sanitation protocols compliant with health department standards
• Maintain an orderly and clean kitchen workspace and dining areas—cleaning, sanitizing, labeling, and storing supplies and dishes efficiently
• Assist in preparing meals for bed-bound residents or those with specific dietary instructions
• Collaborate closely with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to help meet residents' nutritional needs
• Support inventory control and food ordering as needed to maintain adequate supplies
• Occasionally contribute to cooking for special events or make creative meal tweaks to brighten residents’ day

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) is required
• Prior experience in institutional, nursing home, or assisted living cooking environments is a plus—demonstrating ability in large-quantity meal prep, special diets, and sanitation protocols
• Familiarity with health and food safety regulations (e.g., ServSafe certification) is highly desirable
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and detail.
• Dependable with excellent time management—especially for adhering to the 12 PM–8 PM schedule and alternating weekend shifts.
• Team-oriented, compassionate, and patient-focused—keen to enrich residents’ mealtimes.
