Job Title: Line Cook


 


Location: Deer Creek Lodge and Conference Center


Department: Culinary


Reports To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef


 


 


Position Summary:


 


We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team at Deer Creek Lodge and Conference Center. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests, whether they’re attending a conference, wedding, or relaxing vacation.


 


 


Key Responsibilities:


 


Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.


 


Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies and ingredients.


 


Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.


 


Ensure food is prepared and served at proper temperatures.


 


Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.


 


Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.


 


Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotation of inventory.


 


Adapt to different dining environments, including banquets, buffet lines, a la carte dining, and room service.


 


Communicate effectively with front-of-house and back-of-house team members.


 


Participate in daily prep work and ensure readiness for upcoming events or service.


 


 


Qualifications:


 


High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


 


Minimum 1–2 years of cooking experience in a professional kitchen, resort/hotel experience a plus.


 


Culinary degree or formal training is a plus but not required.


 


Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.


 


Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.


 


Strong attention to detail and presentation.


 


Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.


 


 


Physical Requirements:


 


Ability to stand for extended periods.


 


Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.


 


Work in hot, humid, or cold environments as needed.
