COOK - Full-Time – Generations at Rock Island, IL - Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Generations at Rock Island has an immediate opening for an experienced Cook at its facility in Rock Island, IL. The position available is Full-Time with an 8-hour shift, Monday thru Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Must work every other weekend.

Responsibilities of the Cook:

• Prepare food in a timely manner in accordance with dietary requirements
• Follow standardized recipes in food preparation
• Inspect special dietary trays to assure they are correct
• Serve food on the tray line
• Assist in receiving and check in of deliveries of food and supplies
• Follow work/cleaning schedules
• Maintain clean, organized and safe kitchen

Requirements

Cook:

• Must be able to interpret Resident Diet Cards
• Must be deemed eligible to work in a healthcare setting by the State of Illinois - May require fingerprinting.
• Must be capable of following written and oral instructions concerning specific cooking methods and dietary requirements
• Must be familiar with seasonings, understand cooking times and follow sanitation requirements
• Strong organizational skills
• Professional and personable demeanor; reliable and committed to coming to work on time and not calling off frequently
• Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding of older adults
