COOK – Full-Time Days at Decatur Manor in Decatur, IL - Hours: 6:00a-2:00p OR 11:30a - 7:30p

Decatur Manor has an immediate opening for an experienced Cook at our Decatur Manor facility in Decatur, Illinois. We are seeking a cook experienced in buffet-style presentation to prepare and to cover evening meals. Must work every other weekend both days.

PLEASE NOTE, TO WORK AT DECATUR MANOR, YOU MUST BE DEEMED ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN HEALTHCARE BY IDPH AND YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE. IF YOU HAVEN'T PREVIOUSLY BEEN APPROVED BY IDPH, YOU WILL NEED TO BE FINGERPRINTED.

Responsibilities of the Cook:

• Prepare food in a timely manner in accordance with dietary requirements
• Follow standardized recipes in food preparation
• Inspect special dietary trays before service to ensure they are correct
• May serve food on the food tray line
• Supervise and/or assist in receiving and check in of deliveries of food and supplies
• Follow work/cleaning schedules
• Maintain clean, organized and safe kitchen

Requirements

Cook Requirements:

• Must have Sanitation Certification
• Must be able to interpret Resident Diet Cards
• Must be capable of following written and oral instructions concerning specific methods of the preparation of foods and beverages
• Must be familiar with seasonings, understand cooking times and follow sanitation requirements
• Must be willing to undergo a background check, including fingerprinting if needed per IDPH regulations
• Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding of people recovering from mental health and behavioral issues
