Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at our facility located in Irvine, CA. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking delicious meals for our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a High School / GED education and a passion for culinary arts to showcase their skills in a professional yet casual environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and foods according to recipe specifications while preventing waste contributing to financial stewardship
• Displays and practices a work-style that reflects the mission, vision and values of the department and hospital
• Contributes to the effective operations of the department through preparation of food for the patients
• Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment before, during, and after each shift
• Assist in the development of new menu items and specials
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, placing orders as needed
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations
• Assist with the training and mentoring of new kitchen staff

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior experience as a Cook or in a similar role preferred
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Valid food handler's permit or willingness to obtain one
