Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing necessary meals and food items to support the dietary and food service needs of the patients, visitors, and employees of the hospital. Duties include food prep, kitchen clean-up and customer service.  This position works with a fun, close-knit team who enjoys their jobs!  Deliver food to patients and help customers.  Wide variety of duties. 

Schedule

• Part-time position working 16 hours per two weeks.
• Various shifts with start times between 6:00AM and 6:30PM
• Includes some weekend coverage and rotating holidays

Pay 

• Starting pay begins at $19.15 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience. 

• Pay range: $21.53- $29.29 per hour

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or prior experience or at least one year as a cook or related position in hospital, restaurant or similar setting.
• Successful completion of Safe Food Handling course preferred but not required. 
• Food Safety Training accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) – Conference for Food Protection (CFP). Can be ServSafe or TAP Series. 
• Prior experience in an institutional food service department preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 
• Ability to communicate and interact with patients, visitors, and employees in a professional, appropriate manner.
