Cook Position for School Food Service

Assistant Cook needed for school food service in the West Palm Beach, FL area. Monday through Friday, day shift, 4 hours daily. No weekends or holidays, summers off!

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and organized Assistant Cook to support the kitchen Manager with daily food preparation and cooking. The idea candidate has at least three years of cooking experience, follows instructions well, maintains high food safety standards, and works effectively as part of a team. ServSafe® certification a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the kitchen Manager with food preparation and cooking menu items according to the NSLP requirements.


• Unpack and properly store food deliveries.


• Rotate stock and maintain proper inventory organization.


• Adhere to all safety and food handling procedures.


• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times


• Keep kitchen and work areas clean and organized.


• Work cooperatively with kitchen staff and management.


• Follows instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience


• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.


• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.


• Reliable, responsible, and punctual.


• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.


• Obtain proper documentation to work in schools.
