Cook Small Care Home | Daytime Hours

Sojourners’ Ranch & Community is a small, family-style residential care home located on a peaceful 90-acre ranch in Summerville, South Carolina. We are looking for a dependable and caring cook who takes pride in preparing comforting meals for our residents. 

This role involves preparing lunch and dinner for about 10 residents and a small team, focusing on nutritious, comforting meals that feel like home. Our kitchen is small, personal, and relationship-centered — perfect for someone who enjoys truly getting to know the people they cook for. 

This could be a wonderful fit for someone stepping away from restaurant kitchens and looking for a more balanced and personal work environment. 

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare daily lunch and dinner


• Assist with light breakfast prep or planning as needed 


• Create simple, rotating menus and incorporate resident favorites


• Order groceries and keep the kitchen organized


• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen


• Accommodate basic dietary needs or restrictions


• Assist with occasional special meals or small events 


• Participate in monthly check-in meetings

• Enjoys cooking home-style meals


• Reliable, consistent, and organized 


• Comfortable working in a small, calm environment


• Friendly and respectful with residents 


• Appreciates fresh, farm-inspired ingredients 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience cooking for groups (school, church, caregiving, etc.)  


• Basic knowledge of food safety 


• ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) 


• Must be able to pass a background check

Schedule:
