About the Role:

Join Stepping Stones Academy as a Cook/Chef, where you will play a vital role in nourishing our students with healthy, delicious meals. We are looking for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to creating a positive dining experience for our young learners.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children, adhering to dietary guidelines.

Plan weekly menus that promote healthy eating and accommodate dietary restrictions.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.

Manage food inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.

Collaborate with staff to create a welcoming and enjoyable dining atmosphere.

Monitor food safety practices and comply with health regulations.

Assist in training and mentoring kitchen staff and volunteers.

Participate in special events and activities to enhance the culinary experience.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a school or childcare setting.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Passion for cooking and a commitment to promoting healthy eating.

Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings and weekends.

Background check clearance and food handler's certification required.

Compensation: $15.00 per hour
