Cook/Dishwasher

Under the direction of the Dining Services Director and the Lead Cook, cooks will be ultimately responsible for preparing food for residents and families. Cooks employed with The Oars Senior Living will execute the menu accurately, follow the direction of the Dining Services Director, Lead Cook and follow all accepted practices of kitchen sanitation.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•         Cook food for meal service, snacks and special events according to and in conjunction with Diet Spreadsheets, Production           Sheets and Recipes.
•         Accurately measure, weigh and portion food items during preparation and meal service.
•         Clearly and accurately communicate with supervisors, cooks, dishwashers, care staff and families.
•         Cook food in a timely manner to meet mealtimes.
•         Accurately execute texture modified diets according to Recipes and Diet Spreadsheets.
•         Perform cleaning duties as assigned by the Dining Services Director, Lead Cook, or other supervisor.
•         Put away food and or supply deliveries according to “First In First Out” practices.
•         Handling all foods, storage and cleaning activities in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards.
•         Complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food storage, cleaning and preparation.
•         Perform any duties essential for dining operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Culinary School Diploma Preferred.
• Maintains current Food Services Sanitation certificate
