Job Summary:

Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. We're looking for students with an engineer's curiosity, an explorer's heart, and a perfectionist's grit to help us build the future of aerospace.

Whether supporting Mature Commercial Engines, our industry-leading Geared Turbofan engines, Military Engine programs, Operations, or Business Support functions, the objectives of our program are to help you to develop an understanding of our industry, our company, its operations, and how each discipline and department contributes to the success of our products and customer partnerships.

Responsibilities

:
Create assembly and disassembly equipment models and technical drawings using NX CAD software.
Apply engineering mechanics statics and strength of materials knowledge to perform structural analysis.
Create finite element models (FEM) and perform structural analysis (FEA) using Ansys Workbench.
Present in design review meetings.
English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

Basic Qualifications:
Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering.
Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Minimum GPA of 3.0

Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering.
Completed courses in engineering mechanics statics and mechanics of materials.
CAD drawing and modeling knowledge.
Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), weld types & symbols, fasteners/threads standards.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis.
Interpretation of technical drawings.
Engine familiarization.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
