Position Overview

Pathlight Community Services is seeking to hire a Direct Care Worker (DCW) at our Co-Op location. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to provide quality care and support to our residents. This is a full-time position working second and third shifts (4:00 PM - 12:00 AM and 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM).

Qualifications

1. Ability to complete required reports and follow written and oral instructions related to the care and supervision of residents.


2. High school diploma, general education diploma (GED), or equivalent.


3. Suitability to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of each resident.


4. Capability to handle emergency situations effectively.


5. Competency in the following areas before performing assigned tasks:
   
   
   
   • Reporting requirements
   
   
   • First Aid
   
   
   • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
   
   
   • Personal care, supervision, and protection
   
   
   • Resident rights
   
   
   • Safety and fire prevention
   
   
   • Prevention and containment of communicable diseases
   
   
   
   


6. Physical and mental health sufficient to not negatively affect the health of residents or the quality of care provided.


7. Ability to drive for the company.


8. Successful completion of a criminal background check.


9. Minimum of one year experience in a group home setting.


10. Minimum of one year experience working with individuals with mental illness.
