Location: Food Services Administration \n\nDepartment: Nutri Service Maint - \n\nArea:North \n\nContract Months:12 \n\nSalary Range: $75,000.00 \u2013 $95,000.00 \n\nAcademic Year: 26-27 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nThe Nutrition Services Maintenance Coordinator 1 is responsible for operational leadership of Nutrition Services maintenance operations. The Coordinator 1 oversees, plans, manages, and coordinates the work of skilled craftsmen (i.e. electricians, plumbers, maintenance helpers, repairers, and HVAC technicians) in school kitchens. The Coordinator 1 is responsible for facilitating communication and establishing relationships with school administration and staff, managing time and resources efficiently, organizing job assignments, providing technical assistance and training of maintenance personnel, and ensuring school kitchens are meeting local, state and federal code compliances.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n1\\. Ensures school facilities are functional, safe, clean, and well maintained.\n\n2\\. Oversees, plans, manages, coordinates, and directs the activities of electricians, plumbers, maintenance helpers, repairers and HVAC technicians, and other relative trades for the school kitchens within assigned areas.\n\n3\\. Meets regularly with principals and school administrators to informs them of the various issues (such as emergencies, work progress, and major repair work).\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\n4\\. Manages team to ensure adequate reports and responses to emergencies, equipment failures, and/or natural disasters.\n\n5\\. Addresses employee issues and enforces board policy and procedures and safety regulations. Provides action plan when and if necessary.\n\nMeets regularly with senior leadership to address field material and support needs to foster efficient operations.\n\n6\\. Provides input on budgetary planning and financial oversight. Monitors the use and cost of labor and material within the area of his/her direction and effectively manages budgets. Reconfigures resources on as-needed basis to provide the most productive output from available resources.\n\n7\\. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.\n\n## EDUCATION\n\n\u2022 Vocational/Technical/Business School preferred.\n\n\u2022 Associate\u2019s degree preferred.\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree preferred.\n\n*Applicants who do not meet these education qualifications may be considered if they have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicate potential for success in this role.\n\n## WORK EXPERIENCE\n\nAt least 3 years working in the district/central office of a large urban school district\n\n*Applicants who do not meet these work experience qualifications may be considered if they have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicate potential for success in this role.\n\n## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION\n\n\u2022 SAP, Microsoft Office\n\n\u2022 Office Equipment\n\n\u2022 Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management both internal and external district.\n\n\u2022 Vehicles (e.g. automobile, truck)\n\n\u2022 Must possess valid driver\u2019s license and a driving record in good standing with the State of Texas and HISD; May be required to use company vehicle to travel to and from assigned campuses.\n\n\u2022 Strong ethical standards and integrity in decision-making.\n\n\u2022 Professional certifications or memberships relevant to the industry or leadership role are desirable.\n\n## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nManages. Accomplishes the majority of work objectives through the management of direct reports. Provides day-to-day direction to staff, meets schedules and resolves problems. Responsible for assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring application of policies and procedures. Required to meet departmental goals. Provides input to hiring, performance, and budget.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\nWork is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.\n\n## BUDGET AUTHORITY\n\nCompiles and organizes data and figures.\n\n## PROBLEM SOLVING\n\nDecisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.\n\n## IMPACT OF DECISIONS\n\nDecisions have considerable impact to multiple divisions or the organization causing risks or improvements to relationships, significant efficiencies, or delays in operations, and/or significant financial gains or expenses. Errors are serious and difficult to discover, normally involve decisions not subject to detailed review and will result in excessive costs and/or significant project delays.\n\n## COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS\n\nCollaborate and solve problems \u2013 works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.\n\n## CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS\n\nRegularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems.
