Job Description - Coordinator

In the Coordinator role, you will plan, process, and request manufacturing information, utilizing computer generated data reports. Schedule production units within assigned areas and assist in control of productive materials, hardware expense items, and expedite shortages. You will coordinate material for your designated area as well as between areas to meet scheduled ship dates. You will review and update the status of orders and materials with manufacturing supervisors, material control personnel, and people in work areas, customer service, and KanBan expeditors. Includes regularly scheduled multi-functional production meetings which vary from once a week to daily depending on area(s) of responsibility. You will utilize the computer, including Microsoft Excel, DMM, AS400, and the Material Synchronization Spreadsheet, to maintain control of floor stock and floor records. You will process surplus, rejected, and/or defective material according to procedures. You will problem solve manufacturing information by identifying missing and incorrect items. Attend the Tier meeting, check and update emails, and log into required systems (DMM, Enovia, AS400). Review production tasks, including checking turnbacks, the Kanban list, crane sheets, and SPCs on the brake and/or punches; also identify past-due parts. Coordinate with operators to assist with part flow and, if necessary, operate the forklift to support production needs. Conduct end-of-day 5S tasks to maintain a clean, organized workspace. You will act as a back-up Team Lead if needed, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations. High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience required. Prior work experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles) will be considered for this position. Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship Prior experience with AS400, VISTA, and DMM computer programs. POSITION CRITERIA: Must be able to multi-task and balance various demands while achieving goals Must demonstrate a collaborative style and work effectively in a diverse environment Must be able to learn from past experiences and apply learning to current situations Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision and capable of solving various problems as unusual circumstances arise through interfacing with other departments Understanding of DMM, DMM Fabricated parts/ Kanban ordering process Ability to deal with both internal and external suppliers in a professional manner Ability to work with both internal and external customers in managing changing schedules Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams across plant and corporate entities Self-motivated and results oriented Must learn and operate a forklift as needed PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.
