Job Description - Coordinator 2 - AP/IB Programming (IB/Fine Arts)

Location: Hattie Mae White \n\nDepartment: AP/IB Curr \u0026 Programming \n\nArea:District Wide \n\nContract Months:12 \n\nSalary Range: $85,000.00 \u2013 $105,000.00 \n\nAcademic Year: 26-27 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nThis C2-AP/IB Programming manages efficient and effective operations of the District\u0027s AP, PreAP and IB programs. The role works closely to support teachers and leaders in their assigned subject area. This position develops program compliance systems, designs district-wide trainings, and monitors the effectiveness of AP, IB, and PreAP programs as they relate to student outcomes.They also support instructional Quality by supporting teachers with the use of curricular resources and provide support.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nList most important duties first \n1\\. Supports teachers and leaders in delivering high quality and rigorous advanced programming. \n2\\. Maintain and validate data trackers weekly, analyze trends, and support campus action planning to close gaps; Provide consistent, data-driven updates on progress, trends, and risks to inform next steps and escalation \n3\\. Design, train facilitators, and facilitate PLCs and district PD sessions focused on advanced academics, including AP/IB/dual credit processes and supports \n4\\. Support curriculum implementation by ensuring alignment to TEKS, dual credit expectations, and advanced academics look fors; Lead initiatives and events that provide students with supplemental instruction and intervention for AP and IB course content.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\n5\\. Partner with campus leaders and teachers to strengthen advanced coursework implementation and student outcomes; develop materials to support student and teacher success. \n6\\. Define and support operational needs for advanced academics, including assessment readiness \n7\\. Other duties as assigned.\n\n## EDUCATION\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n## WORK EXPERIENCE\n\n1-3 years. Previous experience as a teacher, particularly in AP/IB, required; must demonstrate a track record of high student achievement results\n\n## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION\n\nN/A\n\n## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nWork Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\nWork involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an \"as needed\" basis.\n\n## BUDGET AUTHORITY\n\nNo budget development activity is required.\n\n## PROBLEM SOLVING\n\nDecisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.\n\n## IMPACT OF DECISIONS\n\nDecisions have minor, small and possibly incremental impact on the department or facility. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a single department or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.\n\n## COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS\n\nCollaborate and solve problems - work with others to resolve problems, clarify, or interpret complex \ninformation/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.\n\n## CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS\n\nLeads others in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential issues on behalf of the department. Acts as a trusted advisor and becomes involved in the customer\u0027s decision-making process including presenting alternatives and information and applying persuasion and negotiation skills in the resolution of problems. Monitors customer service standards.\n\n## WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS\n\nWork is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.\n\nHouston Independent School District is an equal opportunity employer. \n
