Job Description - Coordinator 2, Behavior, MTSS/ PBIS

Location: Hattie Mae White \n\nDepartment: Behavioral Supports Team 2 \n\nArea:District Wide \n\nContract Months:12 \n\nSalary Range: $85,000.00 \u2013 $105,000.00 \n\nAcademic Year: 26-27 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nThe Coordinator 2, Behavior Supports position supports the development and implementation of proactive data-driven behavioral systems that promote safe and inclusive learning environments for all students. This role works collaboratively with campus and district staff to implement MTSS/PBIS frameworks, build staff capacity, and provide target interventions that address student intervention, behavioral, and socio-emotional needs. The position ensures consistent use of evidenced based on practices, reduces reliance on exclusionary discipline, and improves student outcomes. In addition, this role interfaces with HISD leadership and manages the daily responsibilities of the team and ensures the delivery of high-quality continuity of care for students and school communities.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n1\\. Coordinate behavioral support and intervention activities for all campuses, mobilizing response teams, deploying resources, and managing logistics to ensure a swift and efficient response. \n2\\. Support campus leaders and MTSS teams with conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals\u0027 behavioral needs, including identifying triggers, patterns, and strengths. \n3\\. Develop individualized behavioral support plans based on assessment findings, incorporating input from stakeholders, and adhering to best practices and regulatory documentation requirements. \n4\\. Support the Director of Crisis Response and Behavioral Supports with timely and effective behavioral support interventions to students. \n5\\. Collaborate with district and campus interdisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to behavioral support. \n6\\. Manage a team of behavior specialists with day to day behavioral support for campuses. \n7\\. Collect and analyze district level data related to behavioral referrals, intervention plans, and Frontline documentation.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\n8\\. Monitor campus teams and provide support for progress towards behavioral goals, collect data, and conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. \n9\\. Use data insights to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and make recommendations for improvement. \n10\\. Facilitate behavioral support and intervention training with district stakeholders. \n11\\. Stay informed about current research, trends, and evidence-based practices in behavioral support and crisis prevention- intervention and disseminate relevant information to staff.\n\n## EDUCATION\n\nMaster\u0027s Degree\n\n## WORK EXPERIENCE\n\n3 to 5 years\n\n## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION\n\nSoftware \nMicrosoft Office\n\nEquipment \nOffice equipment (e.g., computer, copier)\n\n## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nManages. Accomplishes the majority of work objectives through the management of direct reports. Provides day-to-day directions to staff; may become directly involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems. Responsible for assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring application of policies and procedures. Receives assignments in the form of objectives, with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides input to hiring, performance and budget.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\nWork is non-standardized and widely varied, involving many complex and significant variables including significant time spent planning, evaluating complex solutions and issues, and negotiating outcomes. Strong analytic ability and inductive thinking are frequently required to devise new approaches to situations where previously accepted solutions have proven inadequate. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the division. Supervision received typically consists of providing periodic coaching, advice, and feedback. \n\nWork is highly complex and broad in scope covering several departments/divisions across HISD. Policy, procedures, and precedents are created and approved by this position. Job is frequently expected to recommend new solutions to problems, to improve existing methods/procedures/services and generate new ideas. May also review decisions made by other individuals on more routine matters.\n\n## IMPACT OF DECISIONS\n\nDecisions have moderate impact to the facility/department or division, causing increased satisfaction or dissatisfaction; producing efficiencies or delays; promoting or inhibiting personal intellectual or professional development; and/or contributing to financial gain or expense. Errors may be serious, usually not subject to direct verification or check, causing losses such as improper cost calculations, overpayment or improper utilization of labor, materials, or equipment. Effects are usually confined to the organization itself and is short term.\n\n## COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS\n\nCollaborate and solve problems - work with others to resolve problems, clarify, or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.\n\n## CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS\n\nRegularly assesses and diffuses complex and escalate customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems.
