The role helps implement policies and initiatives that promote safe, healthy learning environments while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local requirements. It also serves as a key liaison among schools, vendors, and internal departments to facilitate effective communication and timely resolution of environmental issues.
1. Coordinates daily operational activities across EHS divisions, ensuring effective planning, follow up, and alignment with senior leadership directives.
2. Ensure full compliance with AHERA regulations, including scheduling, documenting, and overseeing required asbestos inspections and re‑inspections. Maintain and update asbestos management plans for all district facilities.
3. Supervise and coordinate craft and field workers performing environmental, abatement, and maintenance activities.
4. Provide technical guidance and quality‑control oversight for field operations involving asbestos and other regulated materials.
5. Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, transportation, and disposal in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
6. Coordinate and support emergency response activities related to environmental hazards, spills, mold, or indoor air quality concerns.
7. Manage program budgets, track expenditures, and ensure resources are allocated effectively to maintain compliance
8. Lead, train, and support team members to ensure consistent adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. Organizes meetings, workshops, and events.
9. Supports project management and progress monitoring activities, implementing district and procedures for project management and progress monitoring.
10. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 3–5 years of experience supporting operations, compliance, project management, EHS, or related functions.

Microsoft Office proficiency.
Knowledge of EHS, facilities, or compliance operations preferred.
Ability to interpret regulations.
Valid Texas driver’s license.
Provides project management and day‑to‑day leadership for a team of two or more employees, focusing on monitoring workflow, offering guidance, and resolving escalated issues without formal supervisory authority. Most of the role is spent performing the same operational duties as the team while integrating leadership responsibilities into daily work.
Requires independent judgment to apply complex procedures and evaluate operational problems.
Compiles and organizes data for budgeting, no independent authority.
Decisions are made on both routine and non‑routine matters with some latitude, though final approval is often required. The role is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions, improve existing processes, and contribute innovative ideas.
Decisions impact multiple EHS divisions and can affect service quality and compliance for the district.
Works collaboratively with staff, supervisors, principals, and vendors, clarifying policies and resolving issues.
Serves as a liaison handling sensitive issues, ensuring timely follow up and support.
Monitors customer service standards.
Primarily office based with periodic field visits; may encounter typical school facility environments.
Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting of 25–45 lbs.
