Job Summary

The Construction Operations Cross Bore Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the safe, effective, and compliant execution of the Construction Operations Cross Bore Program. This role supports efforts to reduce the risk of sewer lines being impacted by gas lines during trenchless technology installations and ensures that any identified cross bore concerns are promptly investigated, documented, and resolved in accordance with company standards. The coordinator manages sewer inspection contractors throughout the inspection lifecycle and partners closely with Construction Operations and cross-functional teams to strengthen safety, quality, compliance, and process performance.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary lead for the Construction Cross Bore Prevention process, applying the Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology to ensure work is completed in accordance with company standards.
  • Act as a liaison among sewer inspection contractors, Construction Operations, and other departments to help mitigate cross bore risks through standards, procedures, technology, and process improvements.
  • Ensure reported or discovered potential construction-related cross bores are investigated and addressed in accordance with company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in the GIS Cross Bore Application and other applicable business systems.
  • Oversee day-to-day execution of the Construction Operations Cross Bore Program, including project identification, inspection assignment, contractor coordination, and completion tracking.
  • Manage sewer inspection activities using project management best practices, including cost, schedule, quality, and performance tracking.
  • Review data from business systems to identify trends, reinforce effective practices, and recommend corrective actions where needed.
  • Participate in probable cause analysis related to failed business processes, quality non-conformance, or cross bore incidents.
  • Support contractor management activities, including purchase order management, invoicing, access management, and deliverable tracking.
  • Participate in project teams focused on continuous improvement, process efficiency, system enhancements, safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the program manager and internal stakeholders to advance cross bore prevention initiatives and strengthen contractor and construction team risk management practices.

 



Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in sewer inspections, natural gas utility construction, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience with gas business systems such as ARM, Click, GIS, or similar platforms.
    • Project management experience leading teams and/or process improvement initiatives.
    • Experience performing quality assurance or quality control reviews of contractor deliverables, including sewer inspection videos.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
    • Intermediate proficiency with Smartsheet.
    • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
    • Strong organizational, coordination, and follow-through skills.
    • Ability to lead teams, influence decisions, and support cross-functional collaboration.

 

Preferred

  • Basic knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements impacting the natural gas business, including applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Familiarity with sewer industry standards, such as NASSCO guidelines.

 

Military Experience

Military experience and training may be evaluated as a potential equivalent for education, experience, skills, and knowledge.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Occasional travel required, estimated at 5–25%. Travel may include day trips to local contractor offices, air travel, and overnight stays.
  • This position may occasionally require prolonged standing or walking.
